Jade Raymond announces new Sony game studio and IP

Haven Entertainment Studios will develop a new IP for the PlayStation!

Recently, former Assassin’s Creed co-creator and EA manager, Jade Raymond, announced the founding of Haven Entertainment Studios. This is an independent new game development team, composed of Raymond’s close associates.

According to a relevant post on Twitter, the first game of Haven Entertainment Studios will be a brand-new IP and will have full support from PlayStation.

Furthermore, Jade Raymond stated that:

“It’s been a strange and difficult past 12 months. The pandemic, social injustice, and job elimination have impacted many of my closest friends, family, and co-workers. All these factors, paired with an inability to see friends and family face-to-face, lulled me into a kind of self-reflective cocoon, where I had to ask myself some tough questions about what really matters”.

In addition, Jade wrote in a post over on the company’s blog:

“We believe in the power of games to bring joy to people’s lives. And Sony does, too. Their commitment to excellence is unmatched. It’s why I couldn’t be happier for their backing and support”.

It should be noted that Jade Raymond started off in the gaming industry with The Sims Online for EA. In addition, she is known for her contribution to the creation of the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the production of Watch Dogs and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Earlier in the year, she led Stadia Games and Entertainment but since Google shut the studio down, Jade left the company entirely.
