Today, we are excited to review the Creality Falcon A1 Pro, an enclosed desktop laser engraver, which arrived on the market in August 2025. For those unfamiliar with the company, Creality was founded in 2014 in Shenzhen, China, and has since become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of 3D printers and laser engraving machines.
Unboxing the Creality A1 Pro
To start with, everything comes in one box, packed carefully, neatly, and securely. Once you open the box, you see just protective foam, and once you remove it, you see the top acrylic window of the engraver. Everything that comes with the printer is packed in the Creality A1 Pro, so you just need to start removing it piece by piece.
Something that really caught my attention with the Creality A1 Pro was the protective foil that was covering the front acrylic window. Naturally, I pulled. Then I pulled again. Then even harder. That protective foil simply refused to come off. Eventually, I gave up, unscrewed the handle, and only later discovered that… this was exactly what the instructions told me to do.

Creality A1 Pro Setup & Instructions
The instructions were simple and very easy to follow, leaving almost no room for mistakes, even for the most inexperienced users. Along with the instructions, there is a QR code that takes you to additional instructions. Regarding the Setup, most of the parts are already installed on the engraver, so in less than 5 minutes, you can complete the setup and start enjoying the engraver. The 3 steps you need to follow to complete the setup are:
1. Install the screen mount and connect the screen.
2. Plug the hose from the air assist pump into the indicated slot.
3. Connect the exhaust hose
After these steps, you are good to go with the Creality A1 Pro. Keep in mind that an update will most certainly be needed, which usually takes just a couple of minutes (depending on your network connection)
A Clean and Functional Design
I would describe the design of the Creality Falcon A1 Pro as minimalistic, without any unnecessary complications. Everything has its place, making the engraver look clean while remaining highly functional. There are two access points that allow you to easily insert or remove the material being engraved.
Both openings are made of orange acrylic, which also acts as a protective laser filter. During operation, you can comfortably observe the engraving process without straining your eyes. On the rear side, you’ll find the exhaust outlet where the ventilation hose is connected, while the right side houses all the connectivity ports, switches, and safety controls.
Safety Comes First
Creality clearly paid attention to safety when designing the Creality A1 Pro. The engraver features a physical key switch that must be turned before the machine can be powered on, preventing unauthorized use. In addition, there is a large emergency stop button, allowing you to immediately cut power in case something unexpected happens. Considering that we’re dealing with a Class 1 enclosed laser engraver, these extra safety measures are certainly appreciated.
Premium Build Quality
The materials used throughout the machine feel solid and well-made, giving the Creality A1 Pro a premium feel from the very first touch. Weighing almost 17 kg, it feels sturdy and inspires confidence during operation. Even while engraving, the machine remains surprisingly quiet, further reinforcing the feeling that you’re working with a premium product.

Real-World Experience
First Engraving – Let’s Start Simple
After setting up the Creality A1 Pro, the very first thing I engraved was actually a material test grid. However, I’ll come back to that later in the “Downsides” section. So, let’s start with the first successful engraving. The Falcon logo, which comes pre-installed in the library, was the obvious choice. The engraving was completed quickly and came out exactly as expected—clean, sharp, and without any issues.
Stepping Up the Difficulty
For the second test, I chose another design already available in the library, this time a UFO combined with Falcon’s logo. Once again, the result was excellent. Fast engraving, clean lines, and zero surprises. At this point, the Falcon A1 Pro had already started building my confidence.
Time for a Bigger Challenge
The next step was to increase the complexity by engraving a much larger design onto an old wooden chopping board. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the best choice. Over time, the wood had developed several cracks and was no longer perfectly flat. The uneven surface made proper focusing much more difficult, directly affecting the final result. In this case, I have to take the blame. The machine performed exactly as it should; I simply chose the wrong material for the job.
Small Details, Big Impression
The final test involved engraving Falcon’s logo onto an aluminum business card. This is where the Creality A1 Pro really impressed me. Despite the tiny details involved, the engraving quality was outstanding. Sharp edges, excellent contrast, and very fast completion clearly demonstrated what the laser is capable of.
Beyond the Basics of Creality A1 Pro
Apart from the standard features that most laser engravers offer, the Creality A1 Pro includes several additions that genuinely improve the overall experience.
The Camera Does More Than You Think
The integrated Top View Camera is probably one of my favorite features. Besides allowing you to monitor the engraving process remotely from your phone, it also assists with material positioning. Instead of guessing where the engraving will end up, you can see the exact placement directly inside the software, making alignment and centering incredibly simple. The camera also contributes to the automatic focusing system, achieving a claimed precision of less than 0.012″.
AI-Powered Flame Detection
Another interesting addition is Creality’s AI-powered flame detection. According to Creality, the system continuously monitors the working area and, if flames are detected, immediately stops the engraving process while sending a notification to your phone.
Unfortunately, my personal experience was slightly different. During one of my tests, the wood actually caught fire, yet the machine continued operating without stopping or sending any notification. I cannot say whether the flames simply didn’t reach the detection threshold or if another factor was involved, but I still consider it a valuable safety feature. Hopefully, future firmware updates can make it even more reliable.
A Touchscreen That Complements the Experience
The Creality A1 Pro features a bright and responsive touchscreen that gives you quick access to the most important functions of the machine. While you’ll still use Falcon Design Space or LightBurn to prepare your projects, the touchscreen makes everyday operation much more convenient by allowing you to adjust settings, start jobs, and navigate the machine without constantly reaching for your computer. It’s not trying to replace the software, nor should it. Instead, it complements the overall experience and contributes to the premium feel of the engraver.
The Software: Falcon Design Space
Overall, Falcon Design Space feels very polished. It doesn’t overwhelm new users with unnecessary options, yet it offers enough tools for both beginners and experienced users. A few of the features that really stood out were:
Trace Drawings, Handwriting, Doodles, with a click of a button, you can extract the outline of your own designs. This is all thanks to the integrated camera I mentioned previously.
Batch Engraving gives you the possibility to do multiple engravings on different objects at once. This helps significantly when you want to do a bigger production of the same thing. Again, thanks to the camera, it detects the items, and with a click of a button, it places the design on all of the items.
The Downsides / Is Everything Perfect?
Wanting to play it safe, the very first thing I did was download a material test grid. After I selected the right material (basswood 3mm), I started the engraving process. To my surprise, this went sideways pretty fast. The laser temporarily ignited the wood; then the beam passed through and damaged the bottom of the Creality A1 Pro.
That was the moment I decided to stop the testing, and on the same day, I placed an order for the Honeycomb panel. Only when the panel arrived was I able to continue further with the testing.
Is this a fault of the Creality A1 Pro? I would say no, but if Creality asked me to change just one thing, it would be to include the Honeycomb panel in the box. While it is safe(er) when you engrave, things can drastically change when you want to cut, and to do that, the Honeycomb is necessary. And to be fair, this is not something that only Creality does, but the vast majority of companies DO NOT include the Honeycomb panel as part of the standard equipment.
One more thing I would appreciate would be for the monitor to be adjustable so you can rotate it to different viewing angles.
Final Thoughts on the Creality A1 Pro
After spending several days playing with it, I have to say that I am very satisfied with the Creality A1 Pro engraver. It works smoothly, without unpredictable issues, and it offers a wide range of features, making your life much easier, especially if you are a beginner with lasers. This is a perfect engraver for hobbyists, but even for small businesses that aim to have small production, or to customize their products by adding logos, etc., to them.
And keep in mind that this is just the standard version of it, while you can purchase additions to it, such as the rotary extension, which allows you to engrave on cylindrical objects, or the 2W IR laser head, which gives you the possibility to expand the options of the engraving materials, adding metal, filament, ceramic, etc. to the list.
