As a fan of dancing, Just Dance 2024 is a game I was looking forward to this year. I have been getting the new Just Dance editions for a few years now, and this started as a way to move during the pandemic. It honestly helped me stay more active and get some steps in when the only route I could walk was from my bed to the couch.

TL;DR

If you love dancing and are looking for a fun and exciting way to do some cardio from home, Just Dance 2024 is a must-have game. With fun new songs and more online options, it can help you make a great start to your New Year’s Resolutions and get in shape!

Putting more focus on online options

For the most part, each new Just Dance edition comes with some new fun features or visuals and a whole bunch of new songs to dance to. Last year’s game truly improved the game’s visual aspect and allowed us to remove the reminder to buy the Just Dance+ service, which kept popping up and was a little annoying. All in all, this made us look forward to even more improvements in the games to come.

The biggest update for this year’s Just Dance 2024 edition is the 40 new songs that were added to the list, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves as we will see more about them later. One of the things I have noticed about Just Dance 2024 is that they are trying to enhance the online game options as much as possible. This can be easily noticed by one of the new features added to the game.

This new feature offers something that players have wanted for a while in the game and that is being able to play with owners of previous versions of the game. So, now you can dance to your favourite songs with your friends who might not have the latest version of the game. Of course, this only applies to the songs that are available on the older editions. Therefore, you will not be able to dance to the Just Dance 2024 playlist together, unless they also upgrade to the latest edition of the game.

When it comes to making this shift to the online version though, there are some small issues that I have been experiencing. The game tends to be a little buggy, especially if you don’t have a strong internet connection and this can become frustrating for some players. From what I saw on Reddit, this is also the issue for a lot of people, but mainly for other consoles. In general, the experience on the Switch seems to be a little smoother, but you might want to keep that in mind in case your internet is not that strong.

Beating other high scores with ease

Another fun feature that was added to the new Just Dance 2024 has to do with your high scores. The new game simplifies the way, as you can easily access the leaderboard and select a high score to challenge. If you are very familiar with a certain song, you can challenge any score of your choice and easily move up the leaderboard.

It is also now easier to share your scores with your friends through the leaderboard. If you have friends that you like to compete with, this can be a great chance for you to show them how well you’re doing and urge them to dance more!

New additions to the new Songs List

When it comes to fans of the game, we are all looking forward to seeing which new songs will be added every single year. Honestly, Just Dance 2024 did not disappoint in this regard! The 40 new songs that have been added to the list are some of our favourites from the year and will keep you entertained for hours.

You can see the full list of songs on the official Just Dance website, but here are some that stood out to me in particular:

  • “Butter” by BTS
  • “Calm Down” by Rema
  • “Don’t Chat” by the Pussycat Dolls ft. Busta Rhymes
  • “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus
  • “Gimme More” by Britney Spears
  • “How You Like That” by BLACKPINK
  • “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston
  • “I’m Good (Blue)” by David Guetta & Bebe Rexha
  • “I’m Not Here to Make Friends” by Sam Smith
  • “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams
  • “Kill Bill” by SZA
  • “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” by Kelly Clarkson
  • “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child
  • “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny
  • “You should see me in a crown” by Billie Eilish
  • “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo

These are all such good options for the new game and I truly believe that there is something for everyone in Just Dance 2024. I was especially excited to see that they added BLACKPINK and BTS to the selection of songs and I have been dancing to “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny more than any other song from the new list.

One thing to keep in mind when you purchase Just Dance 2024 is that your new game will also come with a monthly subscription to Just Dance+. This is a subscription service in the game which allows you to have access to more songs to dance to as well as exclusive seasonal benefits and in-game events. Therefore, you can try it before you decide if you want to continue with the subscription or not and you can dance to a lot of new songs while deciding!

Final thoughts – Is getting the new Just Dance 2024 worth it?

When it comes to getting the new Just Dance 2024, a lot of people have conflicting opinions. While the game might not be introducing a lot of new and improved features, the main point of this game is the new song it introduces every year. If you are buying the game for the first time, then the new Just Dance 2024 is a great place to start! If you have the previous games of the series and are wondering whether it is a good choice, it all depends on how often you play and if you are bored with your current song list.

All in all, the new songs added are going to keep you occupied for a long time and help you keep moving while having fun from the comfort of your own home. This game can also be a fun holiday activity for the whole family, so make sure to get it for your loved ones who are into dancing!

A big thank you to CD Media for providing us with a copy of this game!
